And so it begins! The countdown to Christmas, when we all enjoy a well-earned break. You might be feeling depressed that summer-time has officially ended, but it’s all about framing: it’s actually only 8 weeks until the days start getting longer. Seen in that light, you might feel that the changing of the clocks is not that bad after all! Might you be taking an unnecessarily gloomy view of your business as well? It’s true the economic climate is tough and international politics painful and tense, but there are still opportunities out there for those willing to look.

One way to help yourself through difficult times is by meeting other like-minded business-people to learn from, support and help one another, sharing your story and listening to those of others. Business Junction makes it easy, with a full programme of day and evening events to choose from, giving you plenty of opportunities to get together, cement old relationships and build new ones and if you stick at it, you will find the enquiries start to come in, probably not today, possibly not tomorrow, but inevitably before the clocks have time to change back again!

In its mission to counter the November gloom, The Business Junction is laying on a memorable programme of networking opportunities – from snazzy locations to superb menus and the official opening of the festive season!

Networking Tip – The Power of a Positive Attitude

Still on the theme of positive thinking, did you know that a positive attitude is a skill rather than an innate quality? That means it can be learned and practiced. It’s all too easy, especially at the moment, to moan about things that can’t be changed, whether in business or in the wider world, but many of us go out to put our troubles aside for a while, not wallow in them. An open, friendly and positive attitude is more likely to draw people to you than to a moaner in the corner. A genuine smile, a sincere compliment and looking for the good in people and situations will attract others and help them remember you in a positive light. Who doesn’t prefer a laugh to a grumble?
