Brick Lane Bookshop in London are hosting an evening with Shani Akilah in conversation with Jendella Benson on Thursday 20 June at 7:00pm to celebrate the release of Shani’s debut short story collection For Such A Time As This. Tickets will be on sale from £5 and can be purchased here.
Origin City
The family-run restaurant in West Smithfield, which opened last year, is launching a Butchery Masterclass series, just in time for Father’s Day. Participants are invited to stay and dine for Sunday lunch, alongside family and friends. As a special Father’s Day gift, each person who dines will receive a complimentary welcome drink (non-alcoholic options available).
The masterclass cost per person: £199 and runs from 10am-1:00 pm, including a welcome breakfast, and tea and coffee.

For the third year in a row, NAZAR returns to the Southbank Centre for London Pride. The celebration features DJs from SWANA and South Asian communities, brought to you by Nafs Space founder Drew Demetry and Hungama founder Ryan Lanji.
Meltdown at Southbank Centre, 14th to 23rd June
Meltdown is the UK’s longest-running artist-curated music festival. And this year, iconic singer and musician Chaka Khan is in charge of the line-up. Many of the performances are free to attend, including Funk This with New Movementz UK – a battle-style dance competition, and Youth Voices: A Celebration of Chaka, featuring an upbeat performance from Southbank Centre’s very own youth choir.
The Vintage Furniture & Flea Market
Kicking off the exciting new venture is the renowned Judy’s presents The Vintage Furniture & Flea Market. Selling furniture from the mid-century onwards, alongside fashion from the twenties to the noughties, Judy and her team have 20 years of experience in sourcing beautiful one-off pieces that each have their own story to tell, for reasonable prices.
Taking place monthly on Sundays, The Vintage Furniture & Flea Market can be found in Leadenhall Market on 26 May, 30 June, 28 July and 25 August, from 12-5pm.
Taylor Swift Drag Brunch
For one night only this June, OXBO Bankside are inviting Swifties to experience a one-off Taylor Swift Drag Brunch, hosted by drag queen, TikTok superstar and die-hard Swiftie, Sophia Stardust, who will be shaking it off in her best-Taylor-Style. From 12:30-3:00pm, Saturday June 29th guests will be immersed in all things Taylor; from live performances of her top hits to bingo. The local neighbourhood eatery situation in the award winning Hilton London Bankside are offering Swifties the next best thing to seeing Taylor at her sold-out Wembley show.
OBXO Bankside’s Taylor takeover is complete with Taylor inspired desserts, decorations and a Bartender’s Buffet teeming with Taylor themed bottled cocktails including the Fresh Blonde, Bad Blood and Champagne Problems. Dad’s coming to Swingers West End on Sunday 16th June will receive a complimentary drinks voucher to be spent on one beer, wine, spirit and mixer or soft drink. National Fish and Chips Day (5th – 21st June)
Adding a little sparkle to the momentous British occasion, innovative prosecco brand, La Gioiosa, will be partnering with fish and chips legends, Kennedy’s Of London, to introduce a brand new, two-week long ‘Fizz + Chips’ deal.
