Support: some of the Volunteer Centre team

Discovered an urge to give something back to your community? Then Volunteer Centre Tower Hamlets has you covered. The busy charity hub last week launched a concerted push of its volunteer support service in the direction of the Square Mile, and is offering all those who live, work and study in the City free advice and a pathway into the sector.

A spokesperson for Volunteer Centre, which has around 150 local positions that need filling, said: “We can help you find the right volunteer role, help you apply, and offer support until you start. “Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, improve your CV and self-confidence, gain professional experience and a new reference, and give back to your local community.

“We have a huge variety of roles; you could be volunteering with children and young people, in admin roles, or doing something practical at the weekend. “We have regular roles as well as one-off or weekend opportunities. Whatever your passion, interest, skills and availability, we have something for you.”vcth.org.uk
