The City of London is full of incredible places to spend a sunny evening, be it with a tasty cocktail in hand or plate of deliciousness in front of you there is bound to be something that catches your eye. From the amazing rooftop terraces of 14 Hills and Yauatcha there are a myriad of ways to enjoy the summer weather. Here are some of the top restaurants we discovered, be sure to get there soon before summer is over.

14 Hills

14 Hills is most certainly a restaurant that impresses with ease. Nicknamed ‘the forest in the sky’, 14 Hills is situated on the 14th floor of Aldgate skyscraper 120 Fenchurch Street in London’s Square Mile. They have an amazing terrace where you can see great views of the City. 14 Hills serve an all-day modern British menu cooked with French flair. The lobster is a great shout for mains, which is cooked in garlic butter tomato and basic hollandaise. However, if you’re a cocktail enthusiast, then you will be pleased to know that the cocktails here are amazing. The Tower of London cocktail or The Shard? The choice is yours but both are a great choice for evening drinks. This restaurant has it all – great food, amazing views, spectacular interiors, and the food is spot on too.

Sushisamba needs very little introduction. This Brazilian, Peruvian and Japanese joint – is most certainly a great spot for the summer. This restaurant boasts both luxury and style. The indoor restaurant is home to not one, but two outdoor terraces. Not only does Sushisamba have amazing views of the City of London, but it provides consistently good food. Feeling peckish? Samba London is a great choice, which includes, tuna, salmon, hamachi, avocado, asparagus, onion, hishiho miso, crispy yuba and yuzu dressing. Amazing views, spectacular food, and great drinks – sounds like a winner to me.

Obicà Mozzarella Bar, situated in St Paul’s is a great spot to try this summer.

A selection of small plates are expertly curated to perfectly match the flavour profiles of the soft, fresh cheeses, and include Grilled Octopus with Burrata, Italian gazpacho, toasted breadcrumbs and capers and Bruschetta with Stracciatella, Pan Seared Prawn, Marinated Courgette and Lemon Zest.

For mains, pizza lovers are in for a treat with the slow-rise dough pizzas. The Prosciutto di Parma with mozzarella di bufala, organic tomato and rocket is a great shout and one to try.

To finish, be sure to try the Torta di Capri, this flourless chocolate and almond cake is fabulous – you will not be disappointed.

For the summer season, Madison has transformed its iconic rooftop into a boho chic paradise with an influx of plants, palms, and touches of island furnishing ready to transport visitors to the White Isles. Feeling hungry? Don’t worry, Madison has you covered with their sensational starters including; the Margarita lobster taco and smoked tofu poke salad bowl, perfect for a warm summer night. The New York Italian mains include the delicious Lasagna piccante made with spicy pulled beef & ‘nduja ragu, Taleggio and parmesan. And of course, if you’re heading to Madison it’s only essential that you enjoy drinks on the glorious rooftop.

If you haven’t been to Yauatcha City yet, then you are missing out. Located in the heart of Broadgate Circle, this restaurant’s creative presentation of each small and large dish is incredible. The renowned menu includes a wide selection of dim sum. If you’re going for small plates, then the crispy duck spring rolls are great, the crispy tofu is delicious, the chilli prawn baos are also fantastic for sharing. However, the venison puffs are also incredible and a must-try.

Not quite feeling like we have the summer that we’ve all wished for this year? Well worry not, Feels Like June, will have you feeling all the summer vibes with their Californian-inspired menu.

Why not dine on their exciting al fresco terrace which encapsulates the best of Saint-Tropez and California in one.

The small plates are great to start, the mac and cheese is a wonderful choice along with the charred corn on the cob. They have a fabulous range of salads and bowls which are great if you’re trying to stay on track with your fitness goals. The sticky rice bowl with soy chicken, pickled carrot, cucumber, lettuce, and gochujang mayo is fantastic.

If you’re more of a taco lover then prepare to be amazed with a great menu – you can choose from chicken, beef, and fried taco options.

The service is impeccable and it’s difficult to not be impressed with the attention to detail the staff deliver when dining.

If you’re heading out for drinks with friends or a date-night, then this restaurant will most certainly deliver on the swanky vibes, with impressive interiors and a great choice of cocktails.

A great hot spot to visit this summer – you will not be disappointed.
