There is no shortage of amazing Indian Restaurants in The City and with Diwali around the Corner it’s time to start narrowing down the best spots to celebrate the occasion.

It’s no secret that the team at City Matters are huge fans of Cinnamon Kitchen. This year, the restaurant is celebrating with a nine-course sharing feast. Be prepared to treat yourself and your loved ones to an Indian Feast, including, Punjabi samosas, tandoori chicken leg tikka; grilled pink aubergine and the restaurant’s signature dish, Kashmiri-style lamb. And if you do have space left, the sweet malai kulfi, is a must-try. This will set you back £45 per person based on a minimum of two sharing.

If you work in the City, then it’s highly unlikely that you haven’t heard the hype around Brigadiers. This award-winning BBQ restaurant will be celebrating Diwali with the ultimate Diwali Feast Menu, priced at £85 per person. The menu is created by Executive Chef Shanti Bhushan and includes the mouth-watering dishes such as, BBQ Butter Chicken Wings and the, Maharaja Lamb Biryani Feast, which is served alongside Calcutta Anda Curry, Spinach Burrani Raita, Daal Champaran and Butter Naan. A vegetarian menu will also be available, which is priced at £80 per person.

Gunpowder

Another great Indian restaurant to check out this weekend is Gunpowder.

To celebrate Diwali, Gunpowder Tower Bridge will introduce its bespoke roasting trolley which will be piled high with cuts of meat and racks of lamb. The trolley will make its way through the restaurant for guests to select their cuts from, and be served table side.

Guests will round off the meal with a Rampul whiskey and Chai tart for dessert.

Gunpowder’s exclusive Diwali menu will be available on Sunday 12 November with bookings between 12.00 pm and 9.00pm, priced at £35 for a half rack and £62 for full rack.

The dessert will be £8 or £16 with wine pairing. Guests can add an extra shot of whiskey for £8.

If you’re looking for an Indian restaurant in the heart of Mayfair that delivers on delicious food – then be sure to check out Kanishka. This fine dining Indian restaurant by acclaimed chef, Atul Kochhar, is celebrating Diwali with a six-course tasting menu that highlights the diverse and distinct flavours of India’s various regions.

The menu is available from 6-12 November and is priced at £95 per person, with an optional £75 per person wine flight which includes a crisp glass of Atul Kochhar’s Blanc de Blanc NV.

The menu includes dishes such as Atul’s chicken tikka pie with cumin mix berry cumin; Orkney scallop with caramelised William and lime gel and coconut marinated stone bass crab with Devon crab croquette.
