Where to watch Wimbledon 2022 in the City of London

3485

It’s time to crack open the Pimm’s and find some sun-soaked pub terrace or rooftop in the Square Mile to watch the Wimbledon Championships. And there are so many options this year. So, come rain or shine, there’s no excuse to miss out on one of London’s most highly anticipated summer events. Either head to one of these spots during your lunch break, or after work. Or both. Go crazy!

The Happenstance

The Happenstance’s Pimm’s Terrace, located in Paternoster Square near St Paul’s, is the place to grab some Wimbledon-inspired cocktails – anyone up for a round of Murray Smashes? Book a spot out in the square, right by some of the many, many screens and enjoy some sun and tennis in the City of London. With Pimm’s in hand, tennis on the screens and St Paul’s in the background – it doesn’t get more London than this.

Devonshire Terrace

Devonshire Terrace, just minutes away from Liverpool Street Station, is handy for tennis fans based in the City of London. Come rain or shine, the expansive terrace is enclosed under a massive atrium, making it the perfect indoor (but still kinda outdoor) venue to watch the tennis or the EUROS this summer. But be aware they’re only open from Tuesday to Saturday.

St Katharine Docks

This marina is just a hop, skip and jump from the Square Mile. Head here for some free Wimbledon watching parties right on the water. Their floating screen is the envy of screen spots all over London. Book yourselves some deck chairs (either in the shade or right under the sun) and bring all your own food and drinks – but, sadly, they won’t allow booze on the pontoon for this. So, this will be a dry Wimbledon viewing folks.

One New Change

Located at the free-to-access rooftop on One New Change, this Wimbledon watching destination has been popular with City of London workers and residents for many years now. These guys will have a fully stocked bar set up just for the tennis, serving a range of drinks right to your deck chair. And as you’re at One New Change, you can even get wicked food from Gordon Ramsay’s Street Burger and Street Pizza. Simply order on Deliveroo, collect your food downstairs when it’s ready and bring it back to your seat! Just be aware that there is no coverage here. BYO sunscreen or umbrella here.
