Nocturnal Creatures lands in Eastern City

As part of our ongoing commitment to promoting the City as a seven-day destination, EC BID and Aldgate Connect is proud to support this year’s Nocturnal Creatures: a free annual contemporary arts festival hosted by Sculpture in the City and Whitechapel Gallery.

Each summer, for one night only, a host of extraordinary spaces are transformed by an exciting programme of dance and live art performances, workshops, participatory activities and sound installations.

In partnership with Whitechapel Gallery, Sculpture in the City will activate artwork locations in the Eastern City and Aldgate through an exciting programme of free events on Saturday July 23, from 6pm-11pm.

Explore Alice in Wonderland by Jun T. Lai, An Orphaned Mixtape by Bram Ellens, Oasis by Pedro Pires, Permanence by Emma Louise Moore, alongside further activations and performances by Elisa Artesero, Emma Smith and Jocelyn McGregor.

Two recommended pathways have been created by Sculpture in the City, encouraging visitors to participate and experience the activations. The first, All Seeing Pathway, ensures that visitors see all the activations, while the Family-Friendly Pathway has been tailored especially for families.

With a range of activities and performances to see, as well as lots of fantastic bars and restaurants in the area to enjoy, Nocturnal Creatures is the perfect way to spend a summer’s evening.
