If there’s one restaurant that you need to book for date night – it’s Bob Bob Ricard City (BBR City). This swanky spot in the heart of the Square Mile is a stunning joint that oozes elegance with ease.

As soon as we stepped into this restaurant we were impressed with the extravagant interior design. The interior takes inspiration from the Royal Yacht Britannia and the modern day super yachts. The City branch is sister to the Soho original and every table is a booth with it’s own ‘Press for Champagne’ button – a great novelty.

We started the evening with three caviars, served with crème fraîche and blinis – a fantastic way to start the evening. We were then presented vodka shots, which are served at -18°C, a lovely palate cleanser. For starters, the lobster, scallop, shrimp pelmeni is a great way to begin. However, the star of the show for the team at City Matters is the escargots en persillade. For mains, you simply can’t go wrong with the chicken kyiv along with the truffled french fries. If you do have some space for dessert, then we highly recommend trying the BBR signature chocolate glory – absolutely divine.

Of course, it would almost be criminal to visit BBR City and not try a glass or two of the wonderful Champagne that is on offer. We also love the extensive wine list that is available at BBR City. The hospitality at this restaurant is spot on – staff are friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful with recommendations for drinks and food. BBR City is the ultimate date night spot – luxurious, classy and sophisticated. It’s full marks from the team at City Matters.

This fine dining joint in the City not only oozes elegance and class but is perfect for those social media shots. To start, the succulent charcoal-grilled lamb chops infused with aromatic Indian spices are fabulous. Alongside this, the Punjabi fish fry is a great dish to try. For mains, the paneer butter masala is a creamy, tomato-based curry with tender paneer cubes and tastes absolutely delicious. However, the star of the show for the team at City Matters is the meen mango curry tangy fish curry which is infused with delicious mango flavours. The cocktails here are superb – they are not only aesthetically pleasing but also taste fantastic. The fantastic staff at this restaurant do really go over and beyond. This is a great Indian restaurant in the City with a wonderful ambience for date night.
